Bramming

Bramming is at the geographic centre of the newly established Esbjerg Municipality. The Bramming area features green areas and a thriving business community. The countryside around Bramming is characterised by farmland and many town and village communities. Bramming is the main town and has an active business district with many shops. Gørding, Hunderup, Vejrup and St. Darum are local centres nearby. There are several major streams in the area, including Sneum, Holsted and Ilsted which are also popular angling areas. Canoeing is possible on several of the streams.

The town’s central location near the motorway and railway is one of its advantages. The Esbjerg–Kolding motorway cuts through the area north of Bramming, near Endrup and Vejdrup, and gives the town a unique position and unique opportunities. Bramming is an important railway junction along a major train route between Esbjerg and East Denmark. There is also fine train service from Bramming to Ribe and, further south, to Tønder and Germany.

Bramming was founded in 1874 and its population was 6,800 in 2007.
